Are our stars finally going international?More Bollywood stars are getting themselves inked. Some of the ones who’ve gone under the tattoo artist’s needle are Aftab Shivdasani, Shilpa Shetty, Esha Deol, Sushmita Sen, Raveena Tandon, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Rampal, Koena Mitra, Mandira Bedi, Rakhi Sawant (well they are stars right?!)… I can go on and on.

The point being, getting a tattoo is the new ‘in’ thing in the industry.Its been an old issue in Hollywood, where for example Angelina Jolie has a tattooed geographical map accurately detailing the countries of birth of each of her kids (own and adopted) amongst other body arts.Then there are rock stars like Tommy Lee and Eminem who have inked every possible part of their body! Due to this extra media mileage, saala Al (who does tattoos in films) ne bhi rate badha diye…and there are people whose work is far better than his.Even in movies, a tattooed person is shown as the suave, sophisticated, smooth talker who is usually the bad guy (Arjun Rampal from Ek Ajnabee).This was never the case in Bollywood earlier.

So, two big… I mean BIIIG events have come up in this month of April- ‘DLF Indian Cricket League’ and Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?’ Every nook and cranny of the Desi media has been crammed with ads for the two super shows. Music videos worth more than a crore have been made. Celebrity Mascots have been roped in. Probably, soon we’ll see cricketers coming on reality shows to plug their teams. Yada Yada Yada…Pretty Boring innit? Let’s twist this stuff up a bit! What if there’s a mash up between the two? I’m saying IPL meets Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain… Sounds crazy but just close your eyes and envision it. Actually don’t close your eyes… you won’t be able to read further then Yeah, IPL teams fight it out with Fifth standard school kids on the cricket pitch.
