Vivek, who was linked with Aishwarya earlier, arrived hastily at the venue half an hour after the premiere had begun. A source told us “It’s strange to see Vivek here. We don’t know if he has been invited here or has come over just because he is in the capital for an event.” Vivek was reportedly an uninvited entry at Hrithik Roshan’s birthday bash early this month at Shah Rukh Khan’s house Mannat in Mumbai, where the Bachchan couple was present. |

A source close to Vivek says, “Shah Rukh certainly did not want any of his guests to feel tense at his home. Besides, he had personally invited Abhishek, Aishwarya, Vivek and many others to Mannat, when they met at Hrithik’s birthday party in Juhu.” Shah Rukh Khan helped the two gentlemen to erase the discomfort and created a lighter and friendly atmosphere between the two. The two actors after a while seemed comfortable at each other’s company. Few days back, Vivek was also seen bridging the gap between him and the Bachchans by talking to Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan. The three got along very well. |

Leena Yadav is on cloud 9 because of her second directorial venture ‘Teen Patti’ . In Teen Patti she got a chance to work with legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Sir Ben Kingsley. She calls them magicians and says the two don’t overshadow each other at any point in the movie. Set in India and Britain, the film is about greed, deception and imagination. Oscar-winning actor Kingsley plays world’s greatest living mathematician Perci Trachtenberg, while Amitabh plays Venkat, a reclusive maths genius from India. The two meet at a high-rolling casino in London. Releasing Feb 26, 2010 the film will have special appearances by Ajay Devgn, Jackie Shroff, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ranjeet, Shakti Kapoor and Tinnu Anand. |

But well there has been an exception now! It is learnt from my industry sources that talented actor Kay Kay Menon turned down the role that Mallika offered him in her home production Hisss. Mallika is a genuine fan of Kay Kay’s work, especially his intensity. Together they had worked in Sanjay Chhel’s Maan Gaye Moghal-E-Azam. She then sent over the script of her film. First Kay Kay took days to get back, he then called her up to tell her he was not interested in the role. Mallika who is not used to hearing a NO hung up on him in the middle of the conversation even before he could give reasons for not doing the film. Well just imagine what would have happened had he said that on her face…a HISSSS??? |

I’ve heard the song and I think its something every Indian can relate to. It might be an extension of the national anthem which was written by Rabindranath Tagore ages ago, but that’s exactly the point. It was written ages ago and now things are different. So what if Ramu decided to tell the truth? We’re a democracy after all, aren’t we? For those of you who haven’t heard the song or read the lyrics, here goes: Jana Gann Mann Rann Hai Lyrics |

Ram Gopal Verma’s Rann starring Amitabh Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Gul Panag, etc. is now going to be called India 24/7. The funny part is that a newspaper, very famous for faffing about celebrities went all out and stated that Amitabh Bachchan is launching his own News Channel. But… its all rubbish! In fact, its a piece of news that is as rubbish as the one we read recently about Hrithik and Suzanne splitting up! Here are a few quoted lines from Big B’s blog. ” The point is not that incorrect news was printed. The point is also not that it was printed despite denial. The point is the level at which it went in forming a completely incorrect opinion and impression in the minds of the readers.” Big B mentioned this in his blog and made it very clear that this newspaper is creating news out of nothing at all. In fact, he even posted pictures in his blog to prove that India 24/7 is not a News Channel but the name of the film he is acting in. Tch tch tch! |

Remember Kaun Banega Crorepati? The movie is pretty much based on KBC; but here, there’s a story behind every answer. And fortunately for him, Jamal, the slumdog millionaire actually gets every answer correct! I loved how they’ve shown the slums of Mumbai and all the things that happen to little children in India. Really sad, but the way its all shot, is superb; especially the part in which little Jamal falls into a huge puddle of shit just so that he can run and get Amitabh Bachchan’s autograph. Everybody’s acted really well… even the little kids. But you must notice Dev Patel’s expressions while playing the game. I thought he looked totally zonked out! The music and background score also go well with the story and theme. So, just like everybody else, who’s seen it, I’m so gonna recommend this movie to you guys. Its one worth watching for sure. I’ll rate it 4 on 5. |

Admiring the rapid progress made by Akshay as a leading Bollywood star, Bachchan said last evening, “I am extremely proud of this young man. I have seen his growth from early days when he used to remain in the background to now when he is in the forefront of the Indian Cinema. It is a remarkable journey and we are proud of you.” Bachchan said who was on a private visit to the city. “It is always a pleasure to watch films in London.” Thanking the NRIs for their support to the Indian cinema, Bachchan said “Indian cinema is becoming more and more a part of your life.”Akshay virtually was in great pain while doing some of the rare stunts and lifting leading heroine Deepika Padukone in mid-air in the Warner Bros Pictures maiden Bollywood film Chandni Chowk to China. This was revealed here by Akshay Kumar himself at the grand European Premiere of the USD 9 million film at the 1300-seater Empire theatre at the Leicester Square, in the heart of the city, last night. |

He claims that the television with its million channels and fancy remotes gets under an unsuspecting watcher’s skin and toys with their psyche. And it’s going to be none other than Grandaddy Cool, Amitabh Bachchan who plays the founder of a news channel in the movie. With this sort of combination, I’m afraid to think about what sort of effect it’ll have on the poor audience. It’ll just give them another reason to watch Bigg Boss more often; if that’s possible. To make matters worse, there’s no item girl in the picture. If it all comes together as Ramu sees it, this one is promising to be as dangerous as a full length Glenn Medeiros album. |

Big B in the meanwhile is already keen on resuming work and is quite excited. He is particularly interested in starting work for Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s The Legend of Kunal, where he is alongside Tabu. A host of other films too are just waiting for him to come out of the hospital. |

Many say the cause of this could be due to his various professional commitments. Everyone has been warning him to take it easy but he shows no signs of slowing down. Big B is currently working on three movies Alladin, Teen Patti and Shoe Bite besides planning an Indian leg of The Unforgettable tour. Mr. Bachchan has had quite a few burnouts in his career right from a stunt scene that got real on the sets of Coolie, to being hospitalised for over-exhaustion a couple of years ago and none of them have been able to stop him from doing what he wants to do. Well-wishers have praying for his well being. The craziest include classical art veterans, Birju Maharaj and Girija Devi, who stopped their concert for five minutes to pray for the icons. |

Maybe now, after they’ve gotten more mileage out of one track on some pointless album than a Hero Honda Splendour can get on a Frankfurt autobahn, I think Wyclef will be allowed to make his way back to the U.S. and never talk about this ever again. |

I thought he’d take his chances late in life and would attempt to tackle a different sort of movie but no; the higher the pile of money your carcass slaloms down when you’re dead the better right Yashji? So I guess the four year break was dedicated to training his hamster, Aditya Chopra, to take the reigns after his death. |

Apparently the tour does consist of other stars as well but none of them are being thrown into the limelight as much as the Ash, Abhishek and Big B trio. Thank god, that some genuine stars such as Madhuri Dixit are finally starting to gain some well deserved publicity through the show as well. The rarely seen Madhuri recently gave breathtaking performances at San Francisco and Los Angeles, to her most popular tracks such as ‘Que Sera Sera‘ from ‘Pukar‘, and ‘Ek Do Teen‘ from ‘Tezaab‘. Way to go, Mads! We hope the permanently press-hungry Bachchans are not too jealous of your fan following at the shows! :p We pity the poor culturally starved NRI’s in America and Europe who are forced to see ads of the tour every five minutes, but cannot go see the actual show because of the super high price of two hundred and fifty pounds per ticket. I’d rather spend double the money to go to Madame Tussaud’s ten times, than spend so many pounds to watch something so fake and ridiculously expensive when you can just watch them on TV at home. So we guess Big B’s declaration that the ‘tour is solely due to the love of the fans’ was a big fat lie! Try reducing ticket prices if you love your fans so much! As if you would actually bother to parade around for your beloved fans for free! It’s obvious that the tour is about the money, seeing that each star is getting paid an exorbitant 700,000 pounds per act! Truly unforgettable!! But only for the Bachchan’s… |
